About the Composer

Ms. Eshani Banerjee is a senior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North (WWPHSN) in New Jersey, U.S. She began studying music at the age of 6 in primary school and classical music composition at the start of secondary school. She has completed Levels 1-8 in ABRSM (Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music) Performance Exams and has subsequently completed the first year collegiate level music theory equivalency course. In addition, she studied Orchestration and Instrumentation prior to composing Impressions of Flamenco

Moreover in 2023, Ms. Banerjee was commissioned to compose a piece for Del Forzza Chamber Music Society (delforzza.org), a nonprofit organization. “Kani: Ua Ola Loko I Ke Aloha” was created for the Maui Fire victims in 2023 and is dedicated to the people of Lahaina. The title translates to “Resonance: Love gives life within.” As flutist and soloist, Ms. Banerjee has performed Poulenc Flute Sonata at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. In 2025, she won the WWPHSN concerto competition performing the music of Malcom Arnold.
